Here’s an easy one. This week’s data mob is shopping centers, of which there are a great many in our system, but only about a thousand actually typed correctly. So, type in the name of your local shopping center and see if it’s typed as one; if not, “Add Type”. Then fill in whatever details you happen to know, or can find, about its location, size, retail outlets, and so forth.
If you’re feeling enthusiastic, there are plenty of lists of shopping centers that you could load up using our list importer. Just paste them in, then reconcile.
Here are a few to get you started:
- List of shopping centres in Australia
- Largest shopping malls in the USA
- List of lists of shopping malls in different countries (read it again slowly and it’ll make sense)
As of this moment, there are 1,015 shopping centers in Freebase. Let’s see if we can get to 5,000 this week. Yes, that’s a huge number, but it’s easy. Just look at those lists! No reason why anyone can’t do a hundred or so if they’ve got a few minutes to spare. I’ll be updating this thermometer image regularly between now and next Wednesday.
