Freebase currently stands at 3.926 million topics, and we should be hitting 4 million some time in the next few weeks.

I’d like to announce a small competition for when that time comes. Whoever enters the 4 millionth topic in Freebase will win fabulous prizes, specifically:

1) A Freebase tshirt, as modelled here by the lovely Jamie:

2) A copy of Clay Shirky’s new book, Here Comes Everybody:

3) Your name in lights — or at least right here on the Freebase blog.

So watch that topic count (it appears on the front page of freebase.com), and keep entering new topics into Freebase to be part of the competition.

The small print: if the 4 millionth topic is entered by a staff member or bot, we will look at the 4,000,001st topic, and so forth forward, until we find someone who’s not staff or a bot.
