Data mob: Bedtime stories

This week’s data mob is all about your favourite children’s books. You can add those you enjoyed yourself as a child, or those your kids enjoy now.

Go to Book and click “Add new Book” to add one, then go fill out the author, illustrator, date of original publication, and so forth. Upload a picture for the cover art, if it’s not already there. You might also want to add to Literary Series if your book forms part of a series, or fill out details on Fictional Universe to describe the characters and places in the book(s).

When you’re done, be sure to add your books to the “Mobbed Topics” on the data mob so we can see what’s been contributed.

I’ve already added one of my favourite Australian children’s books, Diary of a Wombat, and started work on the sprawling Famous Five series. Enid Blyton’s works are certainly a rich vein to mine, as would be the works of Dr Seuss, or series like the Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew.

This is a great idea! I love reading children’s books when I was a kid and now, my son and I enjoy reading them together, especially at bedtime.
