Freebase Hack Day is tomorrow! For those planning to attend, here are a few important notes:
Timing: The event starts at 10am and we’ll be providing coffee and eats to make it worth your while to show up on time. We run til 6pm. Of course, if you can’t make it for the whole day, that’s cool too.
Location: We’re at 631 Howard St, 4th floor. However, you need to enter through 55 Hawthorne St, round the corner, as 631’s doors are locked on the weekend. Just tell the security folks that you’re here for the Freebase event and they’ll point you in the right direction.
Transport/parking: We’re about two blocks from Montgomery BART and walking distance from Caltrain. If you’re driving, note that the parking structure attached to our building is closed on weekends. However, there is a parking lot immediately next door at Howard and 2nd St.
Food: In addition to the aforementioned breakfast, we’ll also be providing lunch at 1pm, as well as drinks throughout the day. We’ve got food for vegetarians, but if you have more complex dietary needs, we recommend you bring something with you as many of the lunch places round here don’t open on weekends. After the event’s over, there’ll be an informal crowd heading out for Chinese together, and you’re welcome to join us.
Blogging, photos, and more: If you’re planning on blogging the event, posting photos to Flickr, or any other such thing, please tag them with fbhd08 so we can find them afterwards. We’ll be asking people to take notes and live-blog the unconference sessions so that those who couldn’t make it can still learn from this event.
