Wow. Since Al’s big load of TV data (more about which to follow), we’re now at 4.9 million topics in Freebase, and fast approaching the big five-by-ten-to-the-six.
What are our millions of topics about, then? Well, for starters, we’ve got:
- 867,609 people
- 836,635 locations
- 519,508 musical albums
- 258,600 employers
- 170,436 TV episodes
- 116,568 books
(Take a look at the most populous types in Freebase to see what else we have.)
So, as we did last time, when we hit four million, we’ll be giving a fabulous prize to the person who creates our five millionth topic.
You can track the topic count on our Explore page, or stay tuned to this blog for the big day. I’m betting on next Tuesday; anyone care to lay odds?
The small print: if the 5 millionth topic is entered by a staff member or bot, we will look at the 5,000,001st topic, and so forth forward, until we find someone who’s not staff or a bot.
