Check this out: Google has launched a new service called Google News Timeline, which draws on Freebase’s data to display newsworthy events. Take a look at this example for Kevin Bacon movies:

As you can see, information about each movie, including release date and starring roles, is drawn from Freebase. You can click on the name of each movie to see more information on Freebase. They also use Freebase data for other categories including music, books, buildings, and more.
